Camp Rock: The Musical is based on the hit Disney Channel movies. It is the story of two summer music camps that battle it out for a rockin' summer that no one will forget. Presented by Reading Civic Theatre. Tickets $25 adult, $22 student/senior.

SUNDAY: Free performance of Genesius Theatre's In the Heights
DATE: Sunday, September 18
TIME: 2 p.m.
LOCATION: Courtyard between the 600 blocks of Penn and Court streets

From the creator of Broadway's smash hit Hamilton comes In the Heights, and you can see it in Downtown Reading for free. Lin-Manuel Miranda's In The Heights ran for 1,184 performances on Broadway. The show was honored as a 2009 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama and won the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Original Score. It also won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Bring a lawn chair and blankets to sit comfortably. In case of bad weather, the show will move to the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. Genesius will make the decision to move the show to one of the ballrooms by 9 a.m. on the day of the performance. Check the Genesius Facebook Page for more information.
WEDNESDAY: Albright's Concerts at The Pond feat. Sweet Plantain
DATE: Wednesday, September 21
TIME: 6 p.m.

Albright College’s radio station, WXAC 91.3 FM, presents the 5th annual September Concerts at The Pond, an outdoor concert series held on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., throughout the month of September. Performances are held on Albright’s campus at Sylvan Pond. The performances are free and open to the public.

Sept. 21: Sweet Plantain The Sweet Plantain Quartet artfully fuses the western classical traditions in which they were trained with the hip-hop, jazz improv and Latin rhythms on which they were raised.

• Sept. 28: Albright’s Got Chops Features performances by the Albright Angels, Mane Men, and Big Cat Jazz Ensemble.

Featured Artist of the Month for September. A painter of mainly historical sites, lighthouses, and wildlife scenes, Ken strives for realism in his art. He has won awards in local shows in Berks and Schuylkill Counties.

RCT announces auditions for the regional premiere of Harry Connick Jr.’s “THE HAPPY ELF”. RCT is happy and proud to announce that it's returning to the SPAC – SANTANDER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER on N 6th Street. “THE HAPPY ELF” is currently scheduled for three shows on Saturday December 10, matinee at 2:00 PM and an evening show at 7:30 PM and on Sunday December 11 at 3:00 PM. Directed by Jeannette DeAngelo.
