MADE IN CUBA: Harold López-Nussa Trio in concert

Presented in collaboration with Berks Jazz Fest.

Cuban jazz pianist Harold López-Nussa has attained the kind of international recognition that most musicians could only dream of — first place at the Montreux Jazz Festival’s solo piano competition; a performance at Paris’s legendary Olympia; yearly North American and European tours; and five albums released to his name.

Here’s your chance to see this piano sensation perform a concert celebrating the release of his new CD – El Viaje!

arts festival READING is a high-quality show that includes 60 juried-in artists as well as 30+ GoggleWorks Studio artists. Featured this year are Demonstrations and Designers Vignette areas. Studio demos include Hot Glass, Raku Firing, Wood Marquetry, and Lampworking. Also included, live music and specialty foods from local restaurants. arts festival READING is held throughout the largest interactive arts center in the country. Free Parking. SUNDAY: Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific in concert

Brickhouse Theater, in collaboration with The Reading Pops Orchestra and The Miller Center, is proud to present Rodgers and Hammerstein's "SOUTH PACIFIC." The performance, directed by Tina Angstadt and conducted by Will Rapp, will be done in its entirety in concert form with a spectacular cast of local and professional talent. Tickets: $32 Adult, $15 Student, $27 Member.

SUNDAY: Celebrate autumn with Gabriel Chamber Ensemble

Featuring music by J.S. Bach, including his beloved Brandenburg Concerti Nos. 3, 4 & 6. Guest artists include Gwyn Roberts and Rainer Beckmann on recorders and Leon Schelhase on harpsichord. The ensemble will also be joined by ten other guest artists to perform in its popular orchestral formation. Tickets at the door are $20. $15 for seniors. Students are admitted free. Complimentary post-concert reception in lobby.

Maria Damore and Lars Potteiger celebrate the brilliant musical legacy of Kurt Weill, composer of Mack the Knife, Speak Low, and September Song. Maria and Lars are the perfect duo to bring Weill’s music to the audience. Maria’s remarkable voice and her careful respect for turn of phrase in a lyric paired with Lars’ agile facility for Weill’s jazzy melodies, make this a concert not to be missed! OCTOBER 8: Reading Theater Project presents "Ghost Karaoke"

Have you seen a ghost? Are there ghosts living in your attic? Your barn? Your bed? Reading Theater Project wants to hear about it. On October 8th, RTP will be hosting a night of ghost stories. They will present a few of their own and then invite the audience members to share theirs. Admission $10; supports the RTP "Dead of Winter: Ghosts of Berks" production in January & February 2017.

Join GoggleWorks for the second annual Pumpkin Palooza! Shop the “pumpkin patch” of over 500 hand-blown glass pumpkins, made on premises in the GW hot glass studio. Try your hand at making one of your own – as a keepsake or special gift (ages 8+; 8-12 year olds must be accompanied by parent). Other activities include hot glass demos, gourd sling shot, kids make-and-take art activities, and live music. Cider & beer tasting; plus Gourmand Food Truck & Mr. Softee Ice Cream!

CALL FOR ARTISTS: GoggleWorks 11th Annual Juried Exhibit
GoggleWorks is pleased to announce an open call to all professional artists, age 18 and up, who design and produce their own work, to show in the 11th Annual Juried Exhibition. Open to all media, this exhibition aims to curate a selection of exemplary contemporary work from artists around the country. A catalog will be published by GoggleWorks Center for the Arts containing artists' bios and images of work(s), together with the juror's bio and statement.
