2017 Grammy-nominated Snarky Puppy to play Berks Jazz Fest
The Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest always showcases a wide variety of musical genres, but this year's JazzFest takes that to an even greater level with the appearance of Snarky Puppy. The group is an improbably successful instrumental funk band that has won two Grammy Awards and has received a 2017 Grammy nomination for
Culcha Vulcha in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category.
Snarky Puppy isn’t exactly a jazz band. It’s not exactly a fusion band and it’s not exactly a jam band. Rather, it’s a unique, one-of-a-kind band. It’s a Snarky Puppy band. Snarky Puppy is the jumbo-sized brainchild of bassist/composer Michael League, who shepherds a shifting collection of three-dozen musicians. League describes Snarky Puppy as “a pop band that improvises a lot, without vocals.” Visit the Snarky Puppy website to hear their one-of-a-kind sound and see nearly 40 concert video clips.
Visit the Berks Jazz Fest website for the Fest full lineup and ticket information! |
